No. 2 Vanderbilt came into the weekend with the highest batting average and most runs scored of any team in the Southeastern Conference.
Georgia pitched arguably its best overall game of the season to dump the Commodores 3-1 in Game 1 of Saturday’s doubleheader at Foley Field. But the Commodores bounced back to show why they have the most potent offense in the league and coasted past the Bulldogs 15-4 in the second game.
“It was huge to get that first win,” said Georgia shortstop Kyle Farmer, who had two home runs and drove in four in Game 2.
